New Growth HQ

New Growth HQ

How we swapped our role from fitout provider to being the client.

Planning for the new Growth Australia HQ is in full swing, with the relocation planned for June 2021.

Designing and constructing exceptional workspace for clients is what we do, every single day. However, taking the role as ‘client’ to deliver a fitout that meets the needs of your own company is an interesting prospect, which comes with its own set of challenges.

We pride ourselves on collaborate closely with our clients to analyse and refine their brief, vision and drivers for change, however, it’s tougher than it seems to translate our value-add, advice and bespoke solutions for our own house.  With our different divisions of Growth acting as client, designer and delivery team respectively, they were required to collaborate as if it were any other project.

The 5 key fundamentals for being your own client:

Nominate a ‘client’ – By having a member of the team who operates as the ‘client’ for the fitout journey, it ensures continued accountability. It is easy to prioritise external client projects above your own when business is busy.

Design-team led internal workshops – Always get the buy-in from the wider team. What would they like to see as part of the fitout that would boost their wellbeing and productivity? A ‘wish list’ and ‘must have’ list is a good place to start. This process boosts the positive anticipation and builds excitement which helps everyone to embrace the new workspace.

How do we want to represent our business? – Essentially, our office environment is a showcase for what we do. The space should represent our brand, our values and ultimately inspire our clients with confidence in our expertise when they visit our office.

Forward thinking – Just as clients must, we have had to consider the business plan and vision over the length of the lease committed to. Using our space analysis tools, we can set up the workspace for flexibility and growth.

Leveraging supplier relationships – A key benefit for clients of Growth is that they can benefit from our strong industry relationships. Both with contractors and suppliers. In collaboration with the ‘client’ and design-team, the fitout delivery team can use value-engineering to extract the best value and solution to fit the budget and programme.

The Growth team can’t wait to welcome you to our new space at 260 Queen St!
